We searched on web-sites from Google and found some interesting pages about the Three Gorges Dam and building it. We also found out some other web sites about the engineers building the Dam, we got some great convincing photos that include workers, the Dam and construction tools. We also added some good Pros & Cons.
Try to get some pictures and good questions we could answers, especially yard questions.
To try to get some engineers' opinions to building the Dam. We also will try to concentrate on researching, not being silly.

Today we found out that we had more cons than pros and Ellie was getting agitated to get more pros. We went through the resources we added last time and the day before yesterday. We found out that hydroelectricity is better than coal burning because coal burning pollutes the environment and accelerate global warming.
Be more concentrated and not be so silly. :)

Today we watched some interesting short movies on youtube about the Three Gorges Dam. One of the movies was based on all the group's (engineers, environmentalists, government officials, and chinese citizens.) opinions. We also watched a movie that's in chinese but we didn't put it on our resource list because some people don't know chinese. We chose to listen to it because the Three Gorges Dam is a Chinese project and if we listen to the info. in chinese, then we can understand it better.
Get more information so we can really get our facts, opinions, pros and cons wrapped up.

We practiced the R- T reading group with Mrs. Leishman and read a article about the Three Gorges Dam. We found some surprising facts, one was that we estimated we'll spend $31 billion dollars on the project. Instead, we spend $26 billion dollars! :)

Today we went back to the computer lab to get really convincing pictures that don't have pollution in the background. Google is sort of blocked by the Chinese Government so we unblocked it by using vtunnel.com. We also sent the environmentalists some really scary pollution images that they can use in their presentation. We bet they'll love them! We also got some comparison pictures like what Mr.Tafel showed us. :D

Today we basically did the same thing as yesterday. We found interesting pictures for the other groups and again, we went to "www.vtunnel.com" to unblock the pictures in Google. We also found some pictures for the other perspectives in the class. It was very fun to search everything for the power-point, especially when one of our team members made a little joke about one of the facts. Then it got a little carried away, we told the member to stop and do his work.... and he did... :D

Today we are wrapping up our work because on Monday we are STARTING OUR POWER-POINT!!! We had to fill out the Three Gorges Dam Perspective Project Power Point Planning Sheet, which is pretty much our speech for the presentation to the third graders.

YES! Today we started our power- point. We first had to finish our planning sheet first. Tony and Youlin were jumping out of their seats when the teacher announced the magnificent plan. We agreed that we should put the most powerful main idea last, since the audience usually remembers the last facts. We are all sure we are doing well!!!!

We're very lucky that we have a lot of time today to work on our project. We had a morning session and an afternoon session. MORNING: We finished our Three Gorges Dam- Perspective Report draft and typed it in the computer. Since we had to FINISH... Cheeling had to write the report while Ellie had to type the finished parts in the computer first. AFTERNOON: Tried to finish power point.
Concentrate on the project and power-point. Do not fight!

We also had 2 sessions today, morning and afternoon. MORNING: we finished our essay and tried to wrap up our power point.AFTERNOON:FINISHED OUR POWER POINT!!!!! We wrote some main facts on the index cards for the presentation.
